Friends (& Friends Plus) of the library

The Friends of Burton Latimer Library aim to support and raise the profile of the town’s library. It was the first ‘Library Friends’ scheme to be set up in north Northants.

Aims and activities

The Friends scheme, along with the closely-related Friends Plus group, hopes to encourage wider use of the library by organising a range of extra activities – such as book sales, children’s events, coffee mornings and author events.

How to get involved

Both the scheme and the Friends Plus group are open to library members and non-members. To find out more, either…

  • Call at the library and ask for an information sheet, or…
  • Join us for our regular coffee morning on the second Saturday of every month.

Family-friendly activities

We organise a number of activities that are specially aimed at families with young children.

The sessions are all about child development, and getting young children ‘school ready’. Parents, carers, childminders, and grandparents with children under 5 are welcome to attend.
