Local policing
The police covering Burton Latimer are the Kettering and Corby Rural Neighbourhood Police Team, led by Inspector Scott Little. In an emergency ring 999. Otherwise ring 101 and ask for the Team, which consists of Police Constables and Police Community Support Officers.
The team is supported by all the county’s specialised policing teams.

Neighbourhood Watch
There are 30 Street Schemes in Burton Latimer, each with its own coordinator responsible for communicating with neighbours in their schemes. We are always keen to take on more members in more schemes.
The Area Coordinator for Burton Latimer is Peter Hill (e: pjahill7@hotmail.co.uk), who is the link to the Kettering Borough Area Support Team led by Jane Calcott, the Kettering Borough NHW Liaison Officer (t: 101 ext. 343472). Jane handles the setting up of new schemes and fronting NHW within the Borough.

Street lighting
Responsibility for maintaining street lights on Burton Latimer’s main and residential roads is divided between Northamptonshire County Council and Kettering Borough Council.
Street lighting remains the responsibility of the developer on new estates until the road is adopted by the relevant authority.
In recent years, old incandescent lamps have been replaced by more efficient – and brighter – LEDs.

CCTV
The town centre area is monitored by CCTV, with cameras located at the High Street / Church Street and High Street / Churchill Way junctions, and in the Churchill Way carpark.
No-alcohol zone
Local authorities have the power to designate places where restrictions on public drinking apply.
Kettering Borough Council established a no-alcohol zone in Burton Latimer’s town centre area in 2000, and this was extended in 2009.
