John Currall

I have lived in Burton Latimer since 1997; I became a councillor for the Town in 2012, and in May 2017 was honoured to be elected to represent Burton Latimer on Kettering Borough Council.

I am married to Nicola and we have two children who both attend local schools.

I currently work at St Mary’s School in Burton, and I am also a community governor for the school. Due to my community links I was subsequently asked by Latimer Arts College to become a community governor for them, too.

Since I joined the town council I have helped to build up local events to bring a real sense of community to the town. The annual Christmas lights switch-on was completely re-energised by a new team I set up, and we have worked hard to make this a real event for the town. I also established the first Party in the Park when I was Mayor in 2015/16 – and this is now growing into a real annual town event.

I am here to make a difference to the town, and to try to enhance the community spirit. I also want to help Burton Latimer to develop – but in a way that keeps the town’s unique identity.
