Family-friendly activities

We organise a number of activities that are specially aimed at families with young children. These include...

Rhyme time

These fun sessions are for the under fives and their parents / carers. Join us every Thursday during term-time from 10.30 - 11.30am for an hour of rhymes and movement.

Reading and story-telling

On the second Saturday of every month from 12-12.30pm, one of our local Police Community Support Officers is on hand to read and tell stories from favourite books and authors. Families welcome.

Bookstart

This national scheme aims to encourage every child to have owned their own book by the time they go to school. There are three opportunities to join the scheme, and depending on the age of your child you will receive:
  • At 7 months - a bookstart bag from your health visitor
  • At 2 years - a bookstart voucher from your health visitor to use at the library
  • At 3 years - a bookstart treasure chest from your nursery or playgroup.
  • Further information is available from the bookstart co-ordinator, Linda Holvey
