Councillors
Sheila Walden
I have been a Town Councillor for over 10 years and was elected Chairman in 2001. I became a Councillor because I feel passionately about our community and wanted to help make Burton Latimer a town you would be proud to live in.
Outside of the Town Council I have many interests in other aspects of the town, being a founder member of Burton Latimer Twinning Association, on the management committee of Burton Latimer Community Centre, Patient Participation Group, and the Pocket Park. I am also Chairman of the Governors of Meadowside Primary School.
Burton Latimer is growing fast and one of my aims is to ensure that any major developments are accompanied by the infrastructure to sustain it. We are also extremely short of green spaces and indoor sports facilities within the town and this is something which I feel very strongly about, and - with others - am working hard to achieve.
