Councillors
Michelle Evans
I was elected to Burton Latimer Town Council in 1991, and have served as Chairman of the Town Council and Town Mayor from 2006 - 2008. I wanted to become a councillor to be able to put something back into the community and help give Burton Latimer a voice.
I live with my three children aged 12, 4 and 1. Between them they attend the local secondary, primary and nursery schools in the town. I am a trained primary school teacher and adult education teacher trainer, and I currently work in a primary school in Northampton.
I take a great interest in working with the local schools to improve the amenities for, and safety of, our children - and have been working to improve the liaison between the Town Council and our schools and community groups. I am a great believer in bringing the whole community together to work in partnership for a better Burton Latimer. I also have a keen interest in ensuring that we do not lose the real benefits that our community groups give to our residents, both young and old.
