Councillors
Jan Smith
I was born in Yorkshire and spent my formative years in Liverpool - hence beside my husband and children, I love Liverpool FC!
I became involved with the Town council when I heard again, that the school buses were to be withdrawn, and was most concerned at the news of developing the Cranford Road field. I care passionately about the environment, and to this end became very interested and involved in planning matters, which ultimately led to the setting up of Burton Latimer Action Group. This group hopes to help Burton Latimer develop in a way beneficial to residents and our town, voicing residents' needs and desires first, without having development imposed on us, where possible.
I love travel and would love to swim with dolphins in their natural habitat. Holidays revolve around our children, so we visit Devon to go boarding which is exhilirating being in amongst the waves and conversely love walking round the Lake District. I hope I can help your Town Council to promote Burton Latimer, so it evolves into an even nicer place to live, with better facilities - such as a sports centre, dental facilities and a vibrant High Street. I believe through close liason with Kettering Borough Council and Northants County Council, we can achieve a town to be proud of, but we need your help and your views to help us to help you.
