Planning

Burton Latimer Town Council's planning committee considers all applications for the development (or change of use) of buildings and land within the town.

After carefully looking at each application, the committee conveys its views and recommendations to the designated Local Planning Authority for Burton Latimer, which is Kettering Borough Council. KBC's Planning Committee then makes a final decision on whether an application should be approved, taking account of all the comments it has received - including those from BLTC's Planning Committee.

About our meetings

Our monthly planning evenings (see details on the right) are open to the public. Anyone who attends may raise issues or ask questions on a particular application - although if you wish to do this, please note that you will normally be given just 3 minutes (sometimes a little longer) to make your points. Alternatively, you are very welcome to come along just to sit and listen to what is being passed or rejected on that day.

If you are thinking of submitting a planning application and would like to seek advice, please contact any member of the committee. We will be more than happy to help you.
