Fergus Macdonald (Town Mayor)

I have lived in Burton Latimer for more than 25 years. Since retiring I feel that I now have both the time and energy to help Burton Latimer to move forward on a number of fronts. I am currently serving as the Town’s Mayor.

Most of my working life was spent in various senior management positions, and I have developed a “can do” attitude which I am confident will be of benefit to the town.

On the town council I am the highways representative, which involves liaising with both Northamptonshire County Council and Kettering Borough Council – and whilst we still have a long way to go, I do believe that significant progress has been made. I chair the Civic Centre Management Board and am a member of the Planning Committee. I am also involved in other matters – such as speed watch, and many general maintenance matters.

My main objective is to try to ensure that Burton Latimer is a progressive, safe and pleasant place to live and do business, in the 21st century.
